Little Green Men Cake Pops

These Little Green Men Cake Pops are out of this world!! Your friends and family will be eternally grateful! They are inspired from Disneyland’s Pixar Fest sweets. They take a little time, but easy to make.

Little Green Men Cake Pops

  • Difficulty: Not hard, just time consuming
  • Print

Ingredients

1 box white cake mix

1 1/4 cup water

1/3 vegetable oil

3 eggs

1 cup icing

2 bags (10 oz each) white chocolate melting wafers (I use Ghirardelli)

green gel food coloring

25-30 paper lollipop sticks

75-90 candy eyes

Directions

Make and bake cake mix in 13×9-inch pan as directed on box. Cool completely. Crumble cake into large bowl, using food processor or by hand. Mix in icing until well combined. Roll 25 balls with 1 1/2-inch baller and place on wax paper-lined cookie sheet. Refrigerate to set. Roll 25 smaller balls for antennas (I used a 1/4 tsp as a size reference) and place on separate cookie sheet. Do not refrigerate, need to be flexible for molding.

In microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate wafers as directed on bag. Add green food coloring and mix well.

To make alien ears. Pour a few spoonfuls of melted chocolate in icing bag and make 50-70 small drops on wax paper-lined cookie sheet. Take the end of a lollipop stick and make points in small chocolate drops to form ears. Refrigerate to set.

Remove cake balls from refrigerator. Dip tip of 1 lollipop stick about 1/2 inch into melted candy and insert stick into 1 cake ball no more than halfway. Place back on wax paper and repeat with remaining cake balls. Mold smaller cake balls 1/2-inch above each larger one, using chocolate as adhesive.

Remove candy ears from refrigerator. Place candy eyes in bowl for easy access. Once the cake balls and lollipop sticks are set, dip into melted chocolate to cover; gently tap off any excess. (Reheat chocolate in microwave if too thick to coat.) Place on wax paper. Attach 3 candy eyes in the center and attach ears to sides. Let set. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Enjoy!!
