“BEST. DAY. EVER!”
We were really looking forward to this Movie Night! ‘Tangled’ is one of our favorites!
A classic love story about a strong independent woman, a smoldering and dashing young thief, a horse that keeps up with them all, and a fight between a sword and…a pan. This heart-felt movie will keep you laughing through the whole thing!
We spent the afternoon, making Rapunzel’s artist palettes out of my favorite sugar cookie recipe (click here for the recipe). We cut the dough into circles with a large mason jar lid and a small bottle lid for the thumb hole. After they were cooled, we decorated them with royal icing. It doesn’t look like much, but it’s just the right amount of sweetness! The cookies were sublime and a huge hit!
For dinner, I made my favorite Italian dish. Angel Hair Carbonara! Pasta with bacon, what’s not to like right? I should really make it more often, because both of my kids devoured it. It’s really simple, just a few ingredients, and still quite delicious!
Rapunzel is Charlie Beth’s favorite princess! Her goal is to grow her hair as long as Rapunzel. Over the last 4 years, she has accumulated quite the collection of bows. I hated keeping them hidden in a drawer, so a few months ago made her a ‘Tangled’ themed bow holder. It turned out so cute! Now all of her favorite bows are on display and easy to find. I posted about it a while back, click here for directions or to pin it for later.
We planned on painting in honor of the movie, but didn’t get a chance to do it after the cookies. I’ll have to remember that for the next time. But we did go running, and racing, and dancing, and chasing… or at least the kids did.
‘Tangled’ may be labeled as a “Princess movie”, but it is one that everyone will enjoy. Disney was able to fill this sweet story full of adventure and humor. Even your little prince will love it!
