Pumpkin Chili

It’s time for Pumpkin Everything!

This Pumpkin Chili is a delicious blend of fall spice and perfect for the cooler weather! You would hardly guess that it’s made with pumpkin. It gives it a subtle sweet undertone and makes it a thick and hearty chili. Combined with other seasonal ingredients, it will have you wishing for fall all year long. I hope you enjoy this spicy and savory fall chili!

Ingredients


1lb ground turkey
1lb ground sausage
1 large onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 (29oz can) pumpkin puree
1 (28oz can)crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 cup chicken broth
1 (15oz) can Great Northern beans
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 (12oz) bottle Oktoberfest beer
salt and pepper to taste

Directions

In a large Dutch Oven, brown ground beef, sausage, and onions; drain well. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add pumpkin puree, crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, beans, and season with spices. Slowly pour in Oktoberfest and stir to combine. Cover and let simmer on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Serve with edible spoons (aka tortilla scoops), shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream and sliced green onions.
