Have you ever had a chocolate covered strawberry? Well, this pie has the same delicious and refreshing taste, but more! The addition of the cream cheese filling, will have you licking the bottom of the pie plate. My mother passed on the recipe when I got married and is one of our favorites. With only a few ingredients, it’s an easy Summer time staple!
Strawberry Black Bottom Pie
Ingredients1 pie crust
3/4 cup hot fudge topping
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 pint strawberries, quartered
1 (21oz) can Strawberry Pie Filling
DirectionsBake pie crust as directed in 9-inch pie plate. Cool completely. While crust is cooling, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar together in medium mixing bowl. Set aside.
Layer fudge topping on the bottom of pie shell. Then, carefully spread cream cheese filling over fudge layer.
In medium bowl, mix strawberry pie filling and strawberries together. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Chill in refrigerator until firm, about 4 hours.
Enjoy a scrumptious slice with a dollop of whipped cream.
