Frozen Movie Night

“Winter’s a good time to stay in and cuddle!”

The holidays are over and winter has caught up with us here in Virginia. I love winter, but mostly because I can stay inside and watch the snow fall. My husband on the other hand, hates it! He works most of the day outside and comes home frozen to the bone. Disney’s Frozen seemed the perfect movie to watch all snuggled up with blankets and hot chocolate.

Elsa Disney bound - Frozen Movie Night - Disney Movie Night - A Magical Kingdom called Home

Charlie Beth has outgrown her Elsa costume, but with a little magic, we figured something out. She Disney bounded as her favorite royal highness, Queen Elsa, with a navy dress we got from Amazon. We added a dress length winter white coat and Frozen headband that we got at Disney last year. To finish the look, we used her new snowflake necklace from The Mouse Merch Box. She couldn’t stop smiling! Everything in the bound was stuff we already had in her closet. Disneybounding is so easy and gives us a chance to get really creative!

We finish each others sandwiches - Frozen Movie Night - Disney Movie Night - A Magical Kingdom called Home

Dinner was inspired by ‘Love is an Open Door’. We broke out the panini press and made some delicious sandwiches. The kids requested grilled cheese, but Brandon and I made turkey chipotle panini’s. We even got a cute picture of the two of us in our matching Once Upon Apparel Tees. Brandon doesn’t nerd out with Disney as much as we do, but said he would wear it if he wore the “sandwich” part. Ha!

Olaf Hot Chocolate - Disney Eats - Frozen Movie Night - A Magical Kingdom called Home

I wanted to make something chocolatey for dessert, but also wanted something warm. We comprised with my hot chocolate recipe and made marshmallow snow man for our drinks! To create the body, We used pretzels to connect different sized marshmallows. Then used Wilton’s food writers to make the face and buttons! The possibilities are endless! The kids had so much fun making using the markers to create their own snowman. Then we settled in for the evening snuggled up on the couch, it was almost like a warm hug from Olaf.

The kids loved our movie night and can’t wait for the next one. I didn’t go all out on this one, but sometimes simple is best. It doesn’t take much to create magic in every day lives. Who knew marshmallows and some pretzels could create so much fun!

Thank you so much for following our adventures! Now I want to hear from you! What would you make for a Frozen Movie Night? Do you have a favorite sandwich combination? Let me know below in the comments! And don’t forget to tag @amagicalkingdomcalledhome on Facebook or Instagram for your movie nights. I would love to see them!
