Disney Conversation Heart Cookies

It’s the season of love and what is more adorable than Disney couples! Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip, Rapunzel and Eugene, Anna and Kristoff, and you cant forget the cutest couple of them all, Mickey and Minnie. The Disney love stories have been part of our lives for generations and some have even been included into our own love story. I know several people that walked down the aisle to their favorite Disney love song, included the same color schemes and designs as their favorite couples, and some even lucky enough to get married at Disney and have Mickey and Minnie as their guests.

Disney Conversation Hearts - A Magical Kingdom called Home

I thought this would be the perfect way to share your love for Disney with your loved ones too. Especially if their love language is food! Disney Conversation Heart Cookies would be perfect for any Valentines Day. Here is a few sayings that I came up with while baking, but there’s a million more sayings out there that you can use.

  • So this is love
  • True Loves Kiss
  • Be Kind
  • Best Day Ever
  • Once Upon a Dream
  • I love you, I know
  • Be my Mickey
  • Be my Minnie
  • Love will Thaw
  • etc…

I made it super easy and used edible food markers instead of piping icing on them, but if you have more time than me, go for it! They will look gorgeous!

Conversation Heart Cookies

  • Servings: about 2 dozens
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2-1 tsp almond extract

1 egg

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

3 cups flour

Edible Ink Markers

Meringue powder

Powdered sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter and sugar together in mixer bowl until smooth. Beat in egg and extracts.

In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add to wet ingredients. The dough will be very stiff. Finish kneading dough by hand. If it seems a little dry, add a 1/2 tsp of water to keep it together.

Divide into smaller batches, roll out onto a floured surface about 1/4″ thick. Cover cookie sheet with parchment paper and cut dough with heart cookie cutter.

Bake for 6-8 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheet for 5 mins, then transfer to a cooling rack.

Make Royal Icing as directed on Meringue powder jar. Divide into several small bowls and use desired food coloring for each. Once cookies are cooled, pour royal icing on  cookies and allow to dry for several hours. *You might want to put a piece of wax paper underneath your cooling rack to catch any drips*

Once icing has dried, you are ready to use your edible ink markers and write your favorite Disney valentine sayings.

  1. The edible marker gives it a really nice look, and your lettering is so beautiful. I’m teaching children at church on Sunday night, and I’m thinking I should bring them a Valentine’s treat. I don’t know if I will be ambitious enough to make cookies or not, but these are adorable. 🙂
