Inspired by Epcot’s China Pavilion, we made Orange Chicken and Rice for our World Showcase meal. I am not a fan of frying, but this is a new family favorite! It was DELICIOUS! Not overly sweet like most recipes you’ll find, it had the perfect about of sweet and spice. It would be a great meal to make for your next Mulan Movie Night! Hope you enjoy!

Orange Chicken
Ingredients
Chicken3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bit size pieces
¼ cup flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp ginger powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
Oil for frying
Orange Chicken Sauce
¾ cup fresh orange juice
1 ½ Tbsp clear jel
2 Tbsp olive oil
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp white vinegar
2 Tbsp brown sugar
¼ tsp ground ginger
3 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
Directions
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, onion powder, paprika, and ginger powder. Dice the chicken into small bite size pieces and place in a bowl. Sprinkle flour mixture on chicken and toss to coat.
In a deep Dutch Oven, heat oil to 350°. Start frying in small batches (about ¼ the chicken) until chicken is golden brown, about 3 minutes. Remove and place platter with paper towels to drain. You can easily fry all of them in 3-4 batches.
Meanwhile, whisk all the sauce ingredients in a bowl. Transfer to a large skillet and cook on low-heat, simmering until the sauce thickens.
Remove sauce from heat and transfer fried chicken to skillet. Stir to coat well.
Serve with White Rice. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and orange slice (optional).
Hope you love this recipe as much as we do! Don’t forget to tag @amagicalkingdomcalledhome on Instagram when you make it, I would love to see!
